我最早用 IBM 出的的平板電腦，是可用觸控筆直接在螢光幕上寫字的，它與一般的筆電不一樣，被稱之為 tablet。
在 Windows XP 時代買的中文輸入板，於換用 Windows 7 時，無法使用，公司服務人員告訢我，只要下載他們公司最新版的軟體就可繼績使用，但再三叮嚀囑咐，安裝時一定要先將電腦中原來的 Tablet 及所有名稱中含有 tablet 這字眼所有的程式全部刪除掉才行，這裡的 tablet 就不是「平板電腦」「而是「數位書寫板」或「輸入板」的意思。
